Cowlitz PUD’s Renewable Resource Energy program provides
the opportunity for our customers to voluntarily support the
use of environmentally friendly “green” power.
By choosing to sign up for the Renewable Resource Energy program,
PUD customers are agreeing to pay a supplemental charge of
$2.00 per block of 100 kilowatt-hours of green power.
This additional fee, beyond the normal electric bill, helps
support the development of new renewable energy sources in
the Pacific Northwest. The growth of the green power industry
in the Northwest benefits our environment by helping reduce
air pollution and global climate changes.
Customers can sign up for
this service in the same manner they sign up for regular electric
service – over the telephone or in person in our office.
Use the form linked above and mail or drop it off at our office.
Customers will be allowed to discontinue their purchase at
anytime.
The PUD billing statement will show this charge as a separate
line item. Customers requesting to purchase 16 or more blocks
of renewable power per month will be required to sign an agreement.
Customers receiving a disconnect notice over the past 12 months
will not be eligible to buy renewable power.
