Thanks for visiting the website of Cowlitz PUD
Public Utility District No. 1 of Cowlitz County, WA (better known as Cowlitz PUD) provides electric service to 47,900 residential, commercial, industrial and street lighting customers county wide. We also own the water system that serves 3,800 Longview-Kelso area customers in the Columbia Heights, Lone Oak, Beacon Hill and Lexington areas. We have an interlocal agreement with Beacon Hill Sewer District, who operates and maintains the water system.

Cowlitz PUD employs 160 women and men who appreciate the opportunity to serve you. We have someone on-the-job 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to take your telephone calls in case of a power outage or other electrical emergency.

» BPA Settlement Means Money Back to Cowlitz PUD Customers: Cowlitz PUD received a payment of $14.66 million from the Bonneville Power Administration in early April, and is distributing those funds to its 47,900 customers this spring via a billing credit. Overall, BPA is returning $336 million in interim payments to Northwest power customers, which is money BPA collected through wholesale power rates since October 2006 to fund the Residential Exchange Program (REP). » Cowlitz PUD Employees Holding Car Wash to Support Young Leukemia Patient Cowlitz PUD employees, family and friends are teaming up Sunday, May 4 to hold a fund-raising car wash to benefit nine-year old Hannah Wicken of Longview. Hannah, who attends grade school with the children of several PUD employees, is currently being treated for leukemia at Doernbecher’s Children’s Hospital in Portland. The car wash will be held at the Ocean Beach Highway Les Schwab Tire Store from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday May 4. Concessions will be available as the folks from Kettle Corn will be on hand to help out in the cause to support Hannah. Gunnar’s Auto Supply, Schuck's and Evergreen Paint are also taking part by donating car wash supplies. If you have any questions, contact Kelly Crawford at 575-1859 or 560-2172.
