As set by state law, Cowlitz PUD is governed by an elected board of three commissioners. Each commissioner represents a defined geographic section of the county. Their terms are six years. It is the Board's responsibility to set utility policy and to hire and oversee the work of the general manager.
The Cowlitz PUD Board of Commissioners meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 2:00 p.m. in the John Searing Auditorium at the PUD at 961 12th Ave in Longview. These meetings are open to the public and customer participation is encouraged.
Dena Diamond-Ott, elected in November of 2014, joining the board January of 2015. Dena and her husband Dennis live in Kalama and currently own and operate two businesses; Double D's Feed & Hardware, LLC & Memory Lane Antique Mall. Dena has spent her career working in customer service both in a corporate setting and as a business owner / operator. She is very involved in her community and has served on the Kalama Planning Commission and on the board for the Kalama Chamber of Commerce. She looks forward to working for the people of Cowlitz County.
Commissioner Kurt Anagnostou was elected to the Board of Cowlitz PUD on November 6, 2012 and began serving as one of its' three commissioners in January 2013. Kurt Anagnostou attended the University of Pacific in Stockton CA - where he received a BA Degree in 1981. He then obtained a JD Degree in 1985 from the University of Pacific McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. Kurt passed both the California and Washington State Bar exams and is licensed in both states as well as several federal district courts. Commissioner Anagnostou began practicing with Joe Daggy in 1987. The professional corporation of Daggy and Anagnostou P.S. was formed in 1987 and has practiced general civil law since.
In addition to his legal practice Kurt was elected to the Longview City Council starting Jan 1, 2000. He was re-elected twice serving a total of 12 years on Longview City Council, the last four of which he served as Mayor of the City of Longview.
Both in his professional life and as an elected representative experience Kurt is familiar with the rules requiring confidentiality and the need to maintain executive privileged communication among other duties of elected representatives.
On November 8, 2016, Dave Quinn was elected to the Cowlitz PUD Board of Commissioners. His service on the Board began in January, 2017.
Dave is an electrical engineer with extensive experience and knowledge in the utility industry and he was a past Operations Director at Cowlitz PUD for many years. Dave and his wife, Sharol, who have been Cowlitz County residents for over 40 years, enjoy an active outdoor and athletic lifestyle with family and friends here in the majestic Pacific Northwest.
Dave’s professional career is based on service to the public. He enjoys supporting Cowlitz County residents through community service as an active member of the YMCA Board and past member on local citizens’ committees. Dave appreciates this opportunity to serve and represent the people of Cowlitz County.
