Net Metering

DISLAIMER: The District's solar program has reached its cap for the Washington State Incentive. No more Washington State incentive payouts will be approved.

Cowlitz PUD’s Net Metering program offers a special metering and billing arrangement between you and the PUD by interconnecting your small generation system with the PUD’s electric distribution system through your electric meter. Qualified customer-generating systems may include fuel cells or facilities that use water, wind, solar energy, or biogas from animal waste as a fuel to generate up to 100 kilowatts (kW) of electricity.

The Net Metering Fact Sheet below provides an overview of Cowlitz PUD’s net metering program.  Please reference the Net Metering Project Checklist below for step by step instructions on the required process for successfully interconnecting your generating facility with Cowlitz PUD’s system. If you would like further information, please feel free to contact us by telephone or e-mail - or come in to our office Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 961 12th Avenue in Longview.
